Elimination Of Billing Errors
Our largest problem at Contemporary Imaging was the quantity if missed billing because of our inability to track the work flow effectively and get the information sent out correctly the first time. The year after we installed the Axon EMR System our revenue increased 30% on about the same volume of patients.

The Axon EMR System raises alerts if there are any steps in the process that have not been completed, meaning we invoice everything correctly 99.9% of the time. If we get an error we are easily able to run a report and see where the mistake has been made. This has enabled us to take corrective action so that the same mistakes are not being repeated over and over again. Quite often it is simply a question of retraining an individual and with the Axon EMR System it is easy to identify which individual requires the additional training.

Improved Patient Care
Our second largest headache was being able to keep track of a specific patient who may have to visit multiply times for multiple studies. Often it is clear when a patient is referred that several studies will be required. Now we are able to schedule complicated studies automatically with the correct time allowance in between each procedure. Many of our patients are finding they move between studies quickly and efficiently without the need for multiple visits. This level of efficient care is now becoming known by the referring physicians and has lead to more referrals.

Efficiency of Clinical Staff
After the installation of the Axon EMR System the office staff became significantly more productive. When answering queries from referring physicians or insurance companies all the details were immediately available on screen and problem solving became much faster. The same number of clinical staff now handle twice the patient volume we had 2 years ago, with practically no overtime.

Tracking
As the owner of this radiology clinic it became possible to track and report on everything I needed to know to run the business, from the number of phone calls received on a daily basis through to the final billing of each patient. The easy availability of this information has enabled me to restructure our resources to make use of our personnel more efficiently. We now handle twice the volume of customers and we have only had to increase our staff from fifteen to seventeen.
